My name is Caron and am a naturalista chica from the beautiful island of Antigua and Barbuda located in the heart of the Caribbean. Right now one of my passion is in hair care, more specifically, natural hair care or hair care for those of us with an African decent. September 2009 would be my second time doing a ‘Big Chop’. I went running and screaming back to my natural hair after only 1 year and 2 months of a relaxer because my hair began to fall out in clumps from being over processed.

I decided to start a blog to document my journey with my natural hair thus far. In addition to that, many of my fellow Islanders are seeking, longer, shinier, and healthier hair and are seeking support and how to’s on their journey. I do this in an effort to help other hopeful naturals along the way. I know that the journey can get a little frustrating at times because I’ve been there. I’ve battled with the decision of whether or not to get a texturizer once I had decided to return natural the second time around. But then I thought what would be the point to do a big chop only to put chemical back in my hair again. So I decided against it.

Now, since so many people have inquired about my hair, my regimens, protective styles etc., that in itself made me want to share my knowledge. Being from the Caribbean where the climate is totally different from North America and Europe, I just want to bring natural hair from a Caribbean Perspective.

In addition to natural hair care, this blog will also discuss life in general, beauty, health and so much more.

I hope you guys enjoy my blog and please feel free to share your thoughts and ideas 🙂
